About the Inn
The Alamoosook Lakeside Inn has been the Downeast Maine vacation and event location for nearly 50 years. The Inn is truly a fixture in the community having played host to hundreds
of weddings, parties, and retreats over the years. For locals planning a celebration or visitors from around the world, the Inn provides a warm and cozy atmosphere and a unique opportunity to experience the real Maine.
The Inn’s location on the shores of Alamoosook Lake let’s our guests enjoy nature at it’s best. We have crystal clear water, beautiful native pine trees and an astonishing array of wildlife. Since we have no light
pollution
you can see
more stars than you ever thought existed. Because we so value the

The
Alamoosook Lakeside Inn is proud to be recognized by the Maine
Department of Environmental Protection as an Environmental Leader in the
Hospitality Sector.
The Inn has just partnered with the
Maine Birding Trail. The Trail provides details on 82 prime birding
sites throughout the state. In fact, 4 of them are within 15 miles of
the Inn. We are featured as one of the trails “Best Nests”
birder-friendly accommodations.

enjoying her escape from Washington, DC and wants to share her everyday
observations of nature's wonders with you.
The
grounds outside stretch along the lakefront for a quarter mile—the
perfect place to enjoy a stroll, any time of day or night. Lakeside
picnic tables offer the perfect opportunity to try lobster rolls from
Crosby's, a local specialty. Those with a green thumb will also want to
check out the herb and flower garden, which features regional
highlights.

Grab a paddle,
it's on us!
Complimentary use of our canoes and kayaks is extended to all our
guests. So grab a paddle at our boathouse and experience firsthand
the pleasures of the lake and surrounding area. Particularly
adventurous guests may want to kayak up to the Craig Brook Fish
Hatchery and take a tour of the oldest hatchery on the East Coast.

Rainy days & winter nights in the
downstairs recreation room—the ideal place to relax after a day spent taking in the natural
pleasures of Maine. Curl up with a book from our library, or simply
kick back and enjoy the Direct TV hookup. There is also foosball,
Ping-Pong, and plenty of board games to keep you entertained. And
the large stone fireplace makes it the ideal place to spend a chilly
winter night. Prepare yourself a cup of hot chocolate in the rec
room’s kitchenette and relax by the fire. The décor is rounded out
by a mural depicting the flora, fauna,
and culture of Maine (detail below). This impressive work of art
wraps the entire perimeter of the room!
